Ray -- all you need to do is use the shortcode. Checkout the README

If you're having problems with jQuery, it might be another one of your plugins -- check that they include jQuery the "right way".

Esther -
this is a great plugin, and I like what you have done with washingtonisland - looks cool!

I have a template that has an already created home.php within the theme...

thus, when adding your plugin (because I too am a big fan of jQuery Cylce!) to the active plugins in the admin, how would I go about getting the plugin to work with the page, it is some sort of hand code, but I do not see any reference to any of that advanced editing here.
Yes, it is probably more on the lines of theme development, but for some reason, I am attracting two instances of jquery which is causing one of my two plugins on the site to fail...

any help is appreciated.

thanks,

In it's current state, the WordCycle plugin can only be used where a shortcode works (posts and pages). It takes the gallery of that post and creates a slideshow based on that.

You can specify a link for each image by adding links to the image's properties in the Image Upload/Insert modal box.

Would love to use word-cycle to replace my existing slideshow (the current one doesn't work on the iphone).

Can it be used in a sidebar? How?

Also, can you link each image to it's own url (a page of my site)?

Thank you for developing such an intelligent plugin -

WordCycle doesn't have those settings built in -- but if you edit lines 80-90 of wordcycle.php with the cycle options you're interested in, you'll be in business.

I've been searching for a plugin like this for ages. One question though, is it possible to do prev and next "click transitions" similar to those detailed on the JQuery Cycle plugin site? Example here - http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/int2.html

I have tried replicating the settings but to no avail.

Thanks

Jane --
The problem there was with a comma at the end of the cycle options which IE has problems with. The fix is here: http://github.com/esther/WordCycle/

Your question about pausing -- the default for Cycle & for WordCycle is 0: do not pause on hover.
This site uses wordcycle like this: [slideshow pause='1' float='right' size='full' timeout='4000'] to enable pause on hover.

Hello Again Esther -
I still think this is a great plugin - works great on Safari, Firefox (both MAC OS & current updates).
However - when I checked on a PC - Internet Explorer 7 - the images didn't cycle… Any thoughts?
Unfortunately had to revert to just a gallery for now. Hope you can help. Thank you.
